What To Bring

Below is a list of some items that are often needed by residents in the nursing home. It is a general list and can be molded to each individual’s personal needs.

Clothing

The general rule is to bring whatever the resident was comfortable wearing at home. All items must be wash and wear only. Most of our guests dress daily and there is always assistance for them to accomplish this. Suggested items include:

  1. Undergarments
  2. Seasonal dresses, shirts and trousers. Permanent press is desirable.
  3. Sweaters – no wool please.
  4. Stockings or socks
  5. Sturdy walking shoes – rubber soles, no open backs, sneakers are best.
  6. Slippers – washable are best
  7. Night clothing
  8. Any inexpensive jewelry or accessories normally worn by the resident
  9. Outdoor clothing – seasonal coat, hat, gloves.

PERSONAL NEEDS

  1. Brush, comb, bobby pins, hair accessories
  2. Nail care – polish
  3. After shave lotion
  4. Electric razor
  5. Perfume
  6. Hand Mirror

EXTRA ARTICLE THAT MIGHT BE USED

  1. Small clock with large numbers
  2. Radio
  3. TV
  4. Address book, stationary and stamps
  5. Computer
  6. Materials used to continue hobbies
  7. Magazines, books or other reading material
  8. Magnifying glass for reading
  9. Comfortable chair or other small piece of furniture
  10. Pictures or other room decorations
  11. Lamp, floor or table model

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

Electrical Appliances – must be inspected by the Maintenance Staff when brought in.
